ok but i genuinely love the idea that when Cas and Dean start dating, Cas slowly starts exploring all the things that his parents and family never let him do. And it starts out really minuscule, like Cas wearing panties more often for non-sexual purposes, under his clothing and around the house.
Then, one day, he goes to the nail salon, just to get his cuticles done all nice. And he meets a nice guy named Kevin (no I’m not amounting to the asian stereotype i just feel like Kevin is totally the kind of sweet should that would do your nails). Kevin talks to Cas and coaxes a conversation out of him, ( ”You still in college?” “Ah, yea, did you get the new update? iOS 9?” “Oh, you have a boyfriend? Whats his name?” ). And when Kevin finishes buffing Cas’ nails he asks, “So is that it for today or do you want polish?” And Cas shakes his head timidly, but Kevin scoffs and thats how Cas ends up leaving the salon with rosy pink nails and a 50% off coupon ( “For next time,” Kevin had said).
And when he gets home, Dean notices, smiling widely and pulling a Gomez Addams moment, taking a hold of Cas’ soft hands and kissing up his arm, Cas giggling below him ‘cause he’s ticklish.
Soon after, Dean opens up his work laptop and its paused on a youtube video of a “fall makeup tutorial”. Dean smiles and calls Cas into the room, asking if he wants to take a trip to Sephora.
Of course, Cas is a timid, blushing mess when they get there. But then a woman comes up to him, wearing a name tag that says “Jo”. She launches into an explanation of all the new makeup they have this season and whats hot right now, leading Cas to the Benefit and Tarte isles and pointing out what would work with Cas’ pale skin and pink lips ( “You probably don’t even need blush, your cheeks are so rosy already!” “This mascara is an absolute lifesaver, you won’t want to leave the house without it!” ) And Cas leaves with a bag in each hand, smiling wide. Dean puts the bags in the trunk and kisses Cas sweetly.
So Cas slowly lets himself enjoy more things that he never got the privilege to when he was growing up, skirts and dresses and high socks that Dean buys him. And, of course, Dean is in full support of it, encouraging Cas to be who he wants and wear all the skirts that Cas’ parents said were “not meant for boys.”
And Cas is happier than he’s ever been.
